Meta Platforms Inc. unveiled Muse Spark on Wednesday, the first AI model developed by a team it heavily invested in last year to catch up with competitors in the field of artificial intelligence. Currently, U.S. tech giants are under pressure to demonstrate that their massive investments in AI can yield returns. For Meta, the stakes are particularly high: last year, the company hired Scale AI CEO Alex Wang with a $14.3 billion agreement and offered hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation to some engineers for the newly established superintelligence team.
