Artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as a pivotal force in the realm of ecological and environmental protection. During a press conference convened by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment on March 30, it was disclosed that China has seamlessly integrated cutting-edge technologies, including AI and big data, into ecological monitoring and environmental law enforcement, yielding impressive outcomes. For example, bird image and soundprint recognition technology has revolutionized bird surveys, shifting them from annual events to continuous, year-round monitoring. By installing bird call recognition devices, Jiangsu Province has notably slashed labor costs. LiDAR detectors are capable of swiftly and precisely gathering vegetation data. In the sphere of environmental law enforcement, intelligent law enforcement technology leverages emission permit data to automatically generate leads for enforcement actions, significantly bolstering non-onsite law enforcement capabilities. The accuracy rate in problem detection surpasses 70%, leading to substantial savings in both material and labor resources.
