Andrew Pazder, the US Ambassador to the European Union, stated in an interview with CNBC Europe's 'Europe Early Edition' that the EU's hefty fines and increasingly stringent regulatory measures imposed on US tech giants in recent years could undermine Europe's competitiveness in the global AI economy. He noted that if the EU hopes to secure a position in the AI economy, it will need to rely on data centers, data resources, and the US AI hardware ecosystem. However, excessive regulation, frequent changes in regulatory standards, and hefty fines may force these companies to withdraw from Europe, causing the continent to miss out on opportunities in the AI economy.
