On March 26 (local time), technology journalist Mark Gurman reported that Apple is considering opening up Siri to external artificial intelligence assistants in a bid to bolster the iPhone's platform standing in the AI arena. Citing sources with knowledge of the situation, Apple is gearing up for a comprehensive overhaul of Siri, with plans to implement this change in the forthcoming iOS 27 system update. Previously, Siri gained access to ChatGPT through its collaboration with OpenAI, and now Apple intends to extend this accessibility to other rival products as well. Furthermore, Apple is in the process of developing new tools that will allow AI chatbot applications downloaded from the App Store to seamlessly integrate with Siri.
