IT Home, March 26 news - Wikipedia has updated its editorial guidelines, clearly banning editors from utilizing AI tools to directly compose or revise entries. AI can only be employed for basic text refinement and cross-language translations, without introducing any new content. This rule was incorporated into the editorial guidelines last week and, for now, is only applicable to the English version. The move is intended to tackle the influx of AI-generated content and breaches of the platform's fundamental content policies. Prior to this, Wikipedia had already implemented several measures to detect and remove AI-generated content.
