On March 26, Beijing time, Business Insider reported, citing sources, that Manuel Kroiss (commonly known as Makro), a co-founder of xAI, is set to leave the company. He was among the 11 engineers who co-established xAI alongside Musk in 2023. With Kroiss's exit, the tally of departing xAI co-founders climbs to 10. At present, aside from Musk, only Ross Nordeen continues to be associated with the company. In recent weeks, xAI has undergone significant organizational upheaval, with Musk assuming direct control over numerous subordinates, reallocating staff from Tesla and SpaceX, and implementing layoffs for several dozen other employees.
