Meta has poached the founder and team of AI startup Dreamer. Founded earlier this year, Dreamer focuses on helping users create AI agents. According to an internal notice issued by Meta's Chief AI Officer Wang Tao, the Dreamer team will join Meta's Superintelligence Lab under his leadership to spearhead the R&D of Meta AI agents and related projects. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Dreamer's investors will receive returns exceeding their initial investments, while Dreamer will retain its status as an independent legal entity, with Meta obtaining a non-exclusive technology license. Dreamer co-founder David Singleton confirmed the deal, stating that he had previously demonstrated the product to Mark Zuckerberg and that both parties shared a common vision for the future. Founded by several veterans of the tech industry, Dreamer's team includes Singleton, former CTO of Stripe, and Hugo Barra, who has held positions at Google, Xiaomi, and Meta.
