On March 15, The New York Times reported that U.S. tech giants like Amazon and Google had previously secured AI development cooperation agreements in the Persian Gulf, downplaying geopolitical risks. Now, Iran has threatened to launch attacks on these companies' infrastructure in the region. Previously, Amazon had built data centers in Bahrain, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and other locations, but on March 1, Iranian drones struck Amazon's data center in Bahrain and two facilities in the UAE, causing service disruptions. This week, Iran further threatened to launch larger-scale attacks on facilities belonging to seven U.S. tech companies, including Amazon, Microsoft, and Google.
