According to TechCrunch, Meta has officially acquired the AI social network Moltbook and integrated it into its Meta Superintelligence Lab (MSL). Moltbook is a social platform specifically designed for AI agents, which previously gained attention due to AI-generated fake posts. As part of the acquisition, Moltbook's co-founders Matt Schlicht and Ben Parr will join the MSL team. A Meta spokesperson stated that the addition of the Moltbook team will open up new avenues for AI agents to serve individuals and businesses, with their method of connecting agents through a resident directory representing an innovative attempt in the field.
