Due to concerns over artificial intelligence's impact on the industry and its squeeze on corporate profits, net foreign capital outflow from Indian information technology stocks reached a seven-month high in February. Data released by India's National Securities Depository Limited on Friday showed that foreign portfolio investors net sold Indian IT stocks worth INR 169.49 billion (approximately USD 1.85 billion) during the month. This led to a 19.5% plunge in the Indian IT index, marking its worst monthly performance since the global financial crisis in September 2008.
