On March 5, 2026, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Securities and Futures Commission, Insurance Authority, Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, together with Cyberport, announced the launch of the Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenA.I.) Sandbox++. Building on the successful experience of the 2024 GenA.I. Sandbox initiative, this program expands to cover multiple financial sectors including banking, securities and capital markets, insurance, and MPF. Focusing on three key areas—risk management, anti-fraud, and customer experience—it continues to advance the 'A.I. vs. A.I.' strategy to manage risks associated with AI applications. Participating institutions will receive regulatory guidance, technical support, and complimentary GPU computing resources to develop, test, and optimize use cases in a controlled risk environment, promoting the responsible adoption of AI technologies across Hong Kong's financial ecosystem.
