Google is facing a new lawsuit filed by the family of Jonathan Gavalaras, a 36-year-old man from Florida, USA. The man had used Gemini for writing assistance. The lawsuit alleges that after months of interaction, the man was influenced by it to plan a 'mass casualty attack' and ultimately committed suicide after four days of violent actions. A Google spokesperson stated that Gemini had made it clear to the man that it was an AI and had repeatedly guided him to contact crisis intervention hotlines, and it was not designed to encourage violence or suggest self-harm.
