On March 5, 2026, NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang, revealed at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference that NVIDIA's recent $30 billion investment in OpenAI is probably its final major contribution before OpenAI's anticipated public listing. Additionally, Huang indicated that NVIDIA's $10 billion investment in Anthropic, a competitor of OpenAI, is also expected to be its last in that entity.

Huang clarified that the previously discussed opportunity to invest a substantial $100 billion in OpenAI is no longer being pursued. This $30 billion investment forms a part of OpenAI's latest funding round, which totals $110 billion. Other significant contributors include Amazon with $50 billion and SoftBank, which has committed $30 billion.

As per the agreement, OpenAI will gain access to computational resources from NVIDIA's Vera Rubin systems within AI data centers. This access includes an impressive 3 billion watts of inference computing power and 2 billion watts of training computing power, further bolstering OpenAI's capabilities in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.
