The company has stated its intention to contest in court its designation as a firm posing a supply chain risk. Earlier, former President Trump directed government agencies to cease the utilization of Anthropic's technology. Subsequently, the Pentagon officially designated Anthropic as a company representing a supply chain risk. Anthropic has voiced profound disappointment over this decision, labeling it as unprecedented. Previously, the Pentagon had expressed its desire to employ Anthropic's Claude chatbot without any constraints. However, Anthropic stood firm, stipulating that Claude must not be utilized for mass surveillance operations targeting Americans or for the operation of fully autonomous weapons, thereby declining the Pentagon's appeal to loosen regulatory restrictions.
