According to official news from OpenAI, it has established a multi-year strategic partnership with Amazon. Amazon will invest $50 billion in OpenAI, with the initial $15 billion already confirmed for investment, and the remaining $35 billion to be gradually allocated over the coming months based on conditions. The two sides will jointly develop a stateful runtime environment based on OpenAI models, which will be provided through Amazon Bedrock and is expected to be officially launched in the coming months. Additionally, Amazon Web Services will become the exclusive third-party cloud distribution provider for the OpenAI Frontier platform. OpenAI has committed to consuming approximately 2 gigawatts of computational power from Trainium custom AI chips through AWS infrastructure to support its advanced workloads.
