According to sources familiar with the matter, officials from multiple US federal agencies have expressed concerns in recent months over the safety and reliability of Musk's xAI artificial intelligence tool, highlighting internal government divisions regarding the deployment of AI models. This week, the Pentagon decided to place xAI at the core of sensitive and classified US operations, allowing its chatbot Grok to be used in classified environments. Previously, xAI had signed an agreement with the Pentagon agreeing to adopt an 'all lawful uses' standard, meaning Grok would face no additional restrictions in its use, including military intelligence analysis, weapons development, and battlefield operations.
