Previously, the Doubao feature on ByteDance’s mobile app garnered significant attention. It enabled automation by integrating Doubao AI with Android system permissions. However, some apps considered this a breach of their terms and took action by banning affected accounts. Now, Google has unveiled a comparable feature powered by its Gemini AI, capable of executing multi-step, complex tasks on behalf of users. For sensitive operations, such as payments, user confirmation is mandatory. Additionally, this feature can assist users in accomplishing tasks within specified ride-hailing and food delivery apps. Currently, this experimental feature is exclusively available on the Google Pixel 10, Google Pixel 10 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy S26 series smartphones. Looking ahead, once the Gemini AI app is installed on any Android device, widespread automation could become a reality.
