A report from the Pew Research Center reveals that artificial intelligence chatbots are swiftly becoming ingrained in the daily routines of American teenagers, serving as a novel outlet for them to vent their feelings and solicit guidance. While searching for information (57%) and assisting with school assignments (54%) continue to be the predominant uses, chatbots are progressively stepping into the shoes of friends and family members: 16% of teenagers engage in casual conversations with them, and 12% seek emotional support or advice from these virtual entities.
