According to an internal memo obtained by The Information magazine, Meta Platforms is optimistic about the first core large model to be launched by its newly established AI team. The memo, released on January 20 by Megan Fu, product manager at Meta's Superintelligence Lab, stated that the next-generation large language model, Avocado, has completed pre-training and is Meta's most powerful pre-trained foundational model to date. Pre-training is the initial stage of AI model development, where the model learns general knowledge, patterns, and associations by exposure to vast amounts of data.
