On February 5, the 57th Statistical Report on Internet Development in China was unveiled in Beijing. According to the report, as of December 2025, China’s internet user base has soared to 1.125 billion, while the internet penetration rate has climbed to 80.1%. This progress ensures that the advantages of digital development are accessible to an even wider segment of the population. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the user base for generative artificial intelligence has surged to 602 million, with its applications becoming deeply integrated into both daily life and industrial production. Throughout the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China has achieved remarkable advancements in expanding internet coverage and deepening its applications, while also consistently boosting its technological prowess and level of innovation.
