During the 2026 Spring Festival, robots and AI applications took center stage, with four leading robot brands making their debut on the Spring Festival Gala. Meanwhile, popular AI assistants such as Tencent Yuanbao, Baidu Wenxin, and Alibaba Qianwen engaged users through Spring Festival red envelope campaigns, which spread rapidly through social sharing and word-of-mouth recommendations.

However, WeChat blocked the red envelope sharing links from Baidu Wenxin Assistant and Tencent Yuanbao, citing concerns that these links encouraged excessive sharing and disrupted the platform’s ecosystem. In response, both services swiftly transitioned to a password-based red envelope format. WeChat has stated that it will continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure a seamless and positive user experience.
