As per reports, Apple has finalized the purchase of Israeli artificial intelligence (AI) startup Q.ai, shelling out nearly $2 billion. This move stands as Apple's second-biggest merger and acquisition (M&A) transaction in its history, coming in just behind its 2014 acquisition of Beats for $3 billion.
Q.ai has carved out a niche in the fields of image processing and machine learning. Its cutting-edge technology empowers devices to discern whispers, amplify audio effects amidst noisy settings, and enable silent communication via delicate facial skin movements.
Post-acquisition, roughly 100 staff members from Q.ai, among whom are the three co-founders, are set to become part of the Apple team.
