On the evening of January 29, Pang Tianyu, a Ph.D. graduate from the Department of Computer Science at Tsinghua University and a distinguished young scholar specializing in trustworthy machine learning and generative models, shared on social media that he has taken on the role of Chief Research Scientist for the Hunyuan Large Model Team at Tencent, as well as Tech Lead for Multimodal Reinforcement Learning. Prior to this, Tencent had already welcomed Yao Shunyu, a former researcher from OpenAI, into its fold as Chief AI Scientist. In terms of technological advancements, on January 28, the Tencent Hunyuan team made the Hunyuan Image 3.0 text-to-image generation model available as open source. This model has achieved top-tier status on the global LMArena image editing leaderboard and has been seamlessly integrated into Tencent's AI assistant, "Yuanbao."
