Market sources indicate that Pang Tianyu, who holds a PhD from the Department of Computer Science at Tsinghua University and previously served as a Senior Research Scientist at Singapore's Sea AI Lab, is set to join Tencent on February 4th. In his new role, he will assume the position of Chief Research Scientist for the Hunyuan Large Model team and will lead the technical aspects of Multimodal Reinforcement Learning. Pang Tianyu has made significant strides in the areas of machine learning robustness and deep learning, with an impressive portfolio of over 70 high-impact papers that have garnered more than 15,000 citations. Prior to this, Tencent had already brought on board Yao Shunyu, a former researcher at OpenAI, as its Chief AI Scientist. Additionally, the Hunyuan team has made waves by open-sourcing the Hunyuan Image 3.0, a text-to-image conversion model.
