Apple has officially announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Q.ai, an Israeli startup specializing in audio artificial intelligence. The entire Q.ai team is set to join forces with Apple, and notably, its CEO had previously sold another startup to Apple back in 2013. Apple's Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies lauded Q.ai's groundbreaking approach in merging imaging and machine learning technologies. Siri has long faced criticism for its subpar recognition rate in noisy or muffled settings. Q.ai, on the other hand, is dedicated to boosting devices' voice comprehension abilities under less-than-ideal conditions. Therefore, this acquisition is poised to significantly expand Siri's range of applications. Facing stiff competition from the likes of Google and OpenAI, Apple is aggressively pushing forward with its 'transformation project' for Siri. While the technology acquired from Q.ai may not be immediately incorporated into the next major system updates, in the long haul, Q.ai is expected to inject fresh impetus into Siri's continuous upgrades, enhancing its performance in intricate scenarios.
