On January 27 (local time), Yahoo integrated generative AI technology into its search engine, unveiling the beta version of its innovative AI answer engine, 'Yahoo Scout.' Leveraging Anthropic's Claude model, this engine is designed to go head-to-head with the AI features of Google Search. It's worth noting that since November 1, 2021, Yahoo has ceased offering its products and services in mainland China. Scout has the ability to aggregate data from both the web and Yahoo's proprietary sources. Its interface design is crafted with various features to bolster the credibility and verifiability of the answers provided. With the introduction of Scout, Yahoo intends to implement an 'Intelligent Platform' throughout its entire suite of products and incorporate the engine into business areas like Yahoo Shopping and Finance. Moving forward, the answer engine is set to gradually incorporate personalization features and concentrate on the creation of 'immersive experiences.'
