AI trainers have been officially recognized as a new profession, as outlined in the 'Occupational Classification Code of the People’s Republic of China.' In Shanghai, they are designated as a highly skilled talent profession that is currently in high demand. Numerous white-collar workers in Shanghai are enthusiastically enrolling in practical AI courses to stay ahead. Take Chen Ke, for instance, a post-90s professional without a computer science background, who has managed to keep up with the rapid advancements in AI through continuous learning. Yi Zhou, on the other hand, joined these courses to facilitate his career development and transition.

The courses offered at the Shanghai Industry-Training Integration Skill Development Center place a strong emphasis on practical application. They are taught by professional instructors and feature curricula that incorporate real-world industry scenarios, ensuring that learners gain hands-on experience. Within enterprises, AI trainers play a crucial role throughout the entire product implementation process.

Currently, the demand for AI trainers in Shanghai has surged by over 30%. However, there remains a shortage of versatile talent capable of meeting the industry's evolving needs. To address this, Shanghai has implemented vocational skill enhancement policies that have effectively reduced training costs for both enterprises and employees, thereby fostering a positive and thriving ecosystem.

It is projected that by 2025, the scale of China’s core AI industry will exceed 1.2 trillion yuan, with over 20 new professions emerging nationwide that are related to AI. In response to this growth, Shanghai has raised subsidy standards and optimized the training evaluation process to better support the development of AI talent. As of 2025, a cumulative total of 16,300 individuals have participated in AI trainer evaluations, with 10,900 successfully obtaining certificates, marking a significant milestone in the city's AI talent development journey.
