At the 2026 Chongli Forum, Yu Minhong, the founder of New Oriental Education & Technology Group, remarked that while the internet and artificial intelligence (AI) have immensely propelled human progress, they also come with certain repercussions. He pointed out that the internet remains largely under human control; however, it has become a tool for some individuals to pursue political gains or social clout, often resorting to extreme actions.

Yu Minhong shared his personal experience, noting that without the internet, he might have been spared the intense online backlash he faced over the past three years. Yet, he emphasized that in the digital age, regardless of whether the feedback is positive or negative, fair or biased, one must confront it with courage.
