On January 21 (local time), medical artificial intelligence (AI) startup OpenEvidence announced the successful closure of its Series D funding round, raising a substantial $250 million. This infusion of capital has propelled the company's valuation to an impressive $12 billion. The funding round was spearheaded by Thrive Capital and DST Global, and with this latest investment, OpenEvidence's cumulative funding has soared to nearly $700 million.
OpenEvidence boasts an AI-driven medical search engine. In December of the previous year, the platform facilitated approximately 18 million clinical consultations for certified doctors across the United States. This marks a significant increase from the roughly 3 million consultations per month recorded a year earlier.
