On January 21, the General Office of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government unveiled the "Policy Measures to Foster High-Quality Transportation Development in Guangdong through Artificial Intelligence." This initiative is designed to expedite the seamless integration of artificial intelligence with the transportation sector, thereby fostering its high-caliber growth. The policy encompasses several key strategies: enhancing the availability of transportation data by establishing a comprehensive data resource catalog system and initiating pilot projects for the authorized utilization of public data; securing the provision of computational power, algorithmic solutions, and network infrastructure, with a focus on leveraging resources from the Shaoguan data center cluster to deploy edge computing nodes; and spearheading pilot applications for intelligent connected vehicles. Specifically, six cities within the Golden Inner Bay region—Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, and Zhongshan—will serve as testbeds to facilitate intercity road connectivity and the mutual recognition of testing licenses, with a phased approach to extend these benefits to additional cities.
