Shanghai has successfully woven artificial intelligence (AI) education into the fabric of its primary and secondary school curricula. At Gezhi Junior High School, eighth-grade students are delving into the world of AI music composition, exploring how technology can shape and create melodies. Meanwhile, students from other grades are harnessing AI tools in 3D modeling interest classes, transforming their imaginative concepts into tangible realities. Presently, Shanghai has rolled out a comprehensive local curriculum, "Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence," tailored for fourth and seventh graders. This program mandates a minimum of 30 class hours per academic year, ensuring students receive a solid foundation in AI. Additionally, schools are encouraged to craft unique school-based curricula, fostering a bespoke educational approach that adheres to the principle of "one school, one plan," catering to the diverse needs and interests of their student bodies.
