A survey conducted by Our Hong Kong Foundation on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in primary and secondary education revealed that from July to December 2025, the foundation surveyed 1,200 teachers and students via questionnaires, with approximately 90% of the participating schools being secondary schools. The results showed that over 90% of the respondents had used AI tools. More than half of the surveyed teachers expressed concerns about privacy and security issues related to AI tools. 57% of the teachers utilized AI to assist in teaching, while over 60% of the students used it for gathering information, among other purposes. Meanwhile, over 70% of the surveyed teachers worried that AI would affect students' problem-solving abilities. In terms of AI proficiency, teachers rated themselves an average of 5 points, which was lower than the students' average of 6.5 points.
