An investigation found that the information provided by Google's 'AI Overviews' was inaccurate and misleading to users. These overviews, which appear at the top of search results, partially contain inaccurate health information that could potentially expose users to harm. For instance, when users search for the 'normal range for liver function blood tests,' the AI Overview provides numbers but lacks contextual information and fails to consider the patient's nationality, gender, race, and age. Currently, Google has removed the AI Overviews for the relevant searches.
