On January 8, during the AGI-Next Frontier Summit, Yao Shunyu, Tencent's newly appointed Chief AI Scientist, joined the event via an online connection. He mentioned that lately, he has been deeply engrossed in work concerning models, products, and AI developments. Tencent boasts a robust 2C (consumer-oriented) foundation. In the consumer market, there's a dual demand for both highly capable models and extended context handling. He further highlighted that tapping into the 2B (business-oriented) market in China presents significant hurdles, and initially, the team will focus on catering to its internal requirements. Additionally, he noted that when large corporations venture into 2B sectors, they often enjoy a competitive edge in terms of scenario application compared to fledgling startups.
