Microsoft has stepped forward to clarify that the Office brand isn't going anywhere. The only change is the renaming of the Office Hub app. Previously, this app went through two name - changes. In November 2022, it was rebranded as Microsoft 365, and then in January 2025, it took on the new name Microsoft 365 Copilot. Microsoft has stressed that the names of its core applications, like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, remain exactly the same. Moreover, Office still stands as an integral part of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This particular renaming only pertains to the aggregated portal app, with the intention of highlighting its role as an AI - powered productivity platform.
