Recently, the police in Heber City, Utah, found themselves in a rather amusing predicament when utilizing an AI-powered tool to generate police reports. The system, in a comical misstep, erroneously interpreted a scene from the Disney animated movie 'The Princess and the Frog', which was playing in the background, as a genuine statement. This led to the ludicrous assertion in the report that 'the officer turned into a frog.' The primary aim of this report-generating system was to ease the workload of officers by transcribing audio from body-worn cameras. However, it ended up sparking a commotion due to its misinterpretation of background sounds. The Heber City Police Department is presently evaluating two AI incident-recording systems, one of which is Draft One. Nevertheless, in the wake of this incident, the police are likely to approach the selection and utilization of such technologies with increased vigilance.
