As reported by The Verge, Microsoft has forged a strategic partnership with payment giant Stripe to roll out an innovative feature known as Copilot Checkout. This enhancement transforms the AI assistant into a full-fledged shopping hub, enabling it to facilitate seamless, closed-loop transactions. Currently, users based in the United States have the convenience of placing product orders directly within Excel, the Edge browser, or the Copilot chat interface, marking a significant leap towards 'shopping through dialogue.'
This groundbreaking functionality is powered by the Stripe platform and operates under the framework of the 'Agent Commerce Agreement.' Initially, it offers support for renowned brands such as Etsy and Urban Outfitters. Furthermore, Microsoft has extended an invitation to millions of merchants, allowing them to participate in this revolutionary shopping experience by integrating with Shopify.
