Today, Microsoft rolled out the Copilot Checkout feature on its Copilot platform and introduced an AI solution for merchants known as “Brand Agents.” This move marks a further step in integrating generative AI into online shopping and retail operations. Copilot Checkout empowers users to go through a one-stop process—from product searches to order placement and payment—all within the chat interface, significantly boosting purchase conversion rates. Among the initial batch of payment and e-commerce infrastructure partners are PayPal, Shopify, and Stripe. Meanwhile, Brand Agents enable merchants to swiftly create their own AI agents, guiding consumers through their shopping journey and enhancing both user interaction and purchase conversion rates.
