A fresh phase in the strategic positioning of publicly offered funds has commenced. In the tech sector, the erstwhile dominance of hard-tech elements is gradually giving way to the ascendancy of soft power, with the digital economy emerging as the primary competitive battleground for funds since the dawn of the new year. Historically, the AI investment landscape has been characterized by a hardware-centric approach. However, the digital economy sector, which remained relatively subdued throughout the previous year, has recently demonstrated robust performance. This resurgence may well signal a paradigm shift in the principal investment trajectories of funds.

Previously, among the top four industries favored by publicly offered funds, three were hard-tech domains. Nonetheless, several fund managers have articulated that the sectoral performance dynamics in the new year underscore a 'high-to-low rotation' and a strategic realignment characterized by 'divesting from certain sectors while selectively augmenting positions in others' by publicly offered funds. This realignment also underscores a strong anticipation among funds for the evolution of AI technology—from the foundational construction of computing power infrastructure to the realization and commercialization of its applications.
