Insiders with knowledge of the situation report that artificial intelligence firm Anthropic is in the process of organizing a new funding round, aiming to secure $10 billion. This funding effort is based on a pre-investment valuation of $350 billion, with Singapore's sovereign wealth fund, GIC, and Coatue Management stepping forward as the lead investors. Were this round to be successfully concluded, it would represent nearly a doubling of the company's valuation from just four months prior. The current funding round is anticipated to wrap up in the coming weeks, though the ultimate amount raised may see adjustments. Furthermore, Nvidia and Microsoft are set to contribute an additional sum of up to $15 billion to Anthropic. In a related move, Anthropic has pledged to spend $30 billion on computing resources from Microsoft Azure, which will be powered by Nvidia's AI chip technology. In preparation for a possible initial public offering (IPO), Anthropic has retained legal counsel, with plans to go public in 2026.
