According to Lan Jing News, supply chain sources have indicated that ByteDance is likely to maintain its cautious stance in the AI glasses market, mirroring its approach in the AI hardware sector. These insiders have revealed that the production plan for the first generation of ByteDance's Doubao AI Glasses is set at approximately 100,000 units. These glasses are primarily intended for a select group—senior users of the Doubao platform—and will not be made available for general public purchase. In parallel, ByteDance is already in the process of developing the second generation of Doubao AI Glasses, although mass production has not yet commenced. It remains uncertain whether the second-generation glasses will be marketed to the broader consumer base, with further details anticipated in the upcoming months. Regarding the core hardware, the Doubao AI Glasses are equipped with Qualcomm's AR1 chip, contrary to earlier speculations suggesting the use of the BesTech 2800 chip along with an external ISP chip.
