In response to the rampant spread of "AI-manipulated" videos, the National Radio and Television Administration has announced a month-long, nationwide special campaign to begin on January 1, 2026. At present, certain online accounts are exploiting AI tools to maliciously modify classic films, TV shows, and other media content, creating significant risks. This special initiative will concentrate on purging three types of videos that have been "AI-manipulated" using specific TV drama works and will also target cult animations for cleanup. Moreover, online audio-visual platforms are mandated to fully shoulder their primary responsibilities, reverse negative trends, and foster a healthy online environment for the younger generation. Following the conclusion of the campaign, the experiences gained will be reviewed, and comprehensive governance strategies will be developed to ensure sustained and regular oversight.
