On December 30th, news emerged that Meta had finalized the acquisition of AI agent company Manus in a deal worth billions of dollars. This acquisition stands as Meta's third-largest to date, trailing only behind its purchases of WhatsApp and Scale AI in terms of scale. Prior to this acquisition, Manus was in the midst of securing a new round of funding, with a valuation set at $2 billion. Post-acquisition, Manus's parent entity, Butterfly Effect, will continue its independent operations. Additionally, founder Xiao Hong will take on the role of Vice President at Meta.
