On December 25, SoftBank announced on the same day that it had upgraded its computing infrastructure required for artificial intelligence development. After the upgrade, a computing power platform equipped with 1,244 advanced graphics processing semiconductors (GPUs) was put into operation, and the platform has been in use since the 22nd of this month. As a result, the total number of GPUs in operation at SoftBank has exceeded 11,000, marking a 20% increase in computing capacity. SoftBank plans to utilize this platform to support the development of generative AI large-scale language models (LLMs), among others.
