At the recently concluded '2026 China Academy of Information and Communications Technology Deep Observation Report Conference' in Beijing, reporters gathered that by 2025, China's brain-computer interface (BCI) industry is poised to achieve remarkable strides in core technology advancements, multi-scenario applications, and the establishment of a robust industrial ecosystem.
Regarding core components, the自主研发 (independently developed) BCI chips and implantable electrodes have witnessed an increase in the number of channels, coupled with enhanced stability. Notably, some technical benchmarks are now on par with international cutting-edge standards.
In the realm of decoding algorithms, the integration of artificial intelligence technology has significantly boosted decoding accuracy, facilitating the precise interpretation of fine motor intentions.
As for applications, invasive BCIs are predominantly utilized in medical settings, with dozens of clinical cases already documented. Meanwhile, non-invasive BCIs have found their way into the consumer and industrial sectors, with multiple devices entering mass production, thereby fostering a diverse and multi-scenario application ecosystem.
In terms of the industrial ecosystem, a synergistic linkage among 'policy-research-industry-capital' has been established. Industrial alliances and standardization bodies have formulated preliminary norms to ensure the industry's healthy and orderly progression.
