On December 16th, data from a report issued by the Italian National Institute of Statistics on the 15th revealed that the utilization rate of artificial intelligence (AI) technology among Italian enterprises has surged this year, doubling compared to the previous year. Nevertheless, in Italy—a nation where small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) dominate the business landscape—the adoption of AI technology remains comparatively modest. Citing the report, Reuters highlighted that this year, 16.4% of Italian enterprises with 10 or more employees have incorporated some form of AI technology into their operations. This marks a significant increase from 8.2% in 2024 and a mere 5% in 2023.
