Microsoft might have hit upon a shrewd tactic to elevate Copilot's visibility. Lately, some netizens have observed that at the base of the update logs for select Microsoft apps (like OneDrive) on the Apple App Store, a fresh note has appeared: '*This update description was crafted by Copilot.' Given that Apple doesn't require the inclusion of such notes, this maneuver is speculated to be Microsoft's strategic move to showcase Copilot. Since May 13, 2025, Microsoft has incorporated this statement into the update logs of numerous apps. However, these notes haven't been uniformly present across all updates, and the situation with the Mac version of OneDrive and on Android platforms is still ambiguous. At present, Copilot is in need of greater exposure, and Microsoft's internal teams may be exploring its use for composing update logs for OneDrive's iOS app. It's noteworthy that not every version update features this note; only significant updates do. This approach is sensible, as update logs provide a low-risk, high-visibility avenue to make the 'Copilot' brand widely recognized in a secure and efficient manner. If it can entice some users to give Copilot a try, it will mark a success for Microsoft.
