Google has revealed that it is set to incorporate its Gemini AI model into Google Translate, with the aim of significantly improving the quality of text translations. At present, the Google Translate app, powered by Gemini, is accessible via iOS and Android platforms in the United States and India. It supports 20 languages and asserts to provide "cutting-edge translation quality." Moreover, Google has rolled out a "Real-Time Translation Beta" function. This innovative feature enables users to enjoy simultaneous interpretation through their headphones, all while maintaining the speaker's original tone. This ensures a natural and seamless listening experience, coupled with straightforward usability. Currently, this function is available in the United States, Mexico, and India, and it boasts support for over 70 languages. Google has also outlined its plans to extend language support even further by 2026 and to introduce this feature on the iOS platform.
