Recently, rumors have circulated suggesting that regulatory bodies have interviewed relevant personnel from ByteDance, citing concerns over network security, data security, and potential competition issues. On December 13, an insider from ByteDance clarified that these reports were false. On December 1, ByteDance unveiled its AI large model, 'Doubao,' designed to function as a mobile phone assistant. In a strategic partnership with ZTE, they introduced the 'Doubao Mobile Phone' – specifically, the Nubia M153 model. This innovative assistant boasts system-level access, allowing it to interact with the mobile phone in a manner reminiscent of human operation, which has ignited discussions regarding its security implications.
ByteDance has proactively addressed these concerns by issuing multiple statements to elucidate the security measures of the Doubao mobile phone assistant. They underscored that the assistant would not usurp users' roles in making critical authorizations or performing sensitive operations, and that every action taken by the assistant remains fully under user control. Furthermore, on December 5, the Doubao mobile phone assistant released an official statement outlining its plans to standardize and refine the AI's capabilities in operating mobile phones. This initiative encompasses various scenarios, including but not limited to, incentive-based score-brushing, financial transactions, and specific gaming contexts.
