Microsoft is currently in the process of testing a novel API dubbed "Delayed Message Timing" for the web application interface within Windows 11. The primary goal is to tackle performance bottlenecks that plague WebView2 applications. Serving as a diagnostic tool, this API is capable of accurately gauging the latency of web applications. This is particularly relevant when web apps employ postMessage for communication across diverse contexts, such as different windows, iframes, or WebWorkers. By doing so, it empowers developers to pinpoint performance issues with greater precision. At present, Microsoft is leveraging this API to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in applications like Outlook. Looking ahead, it holds the potential to significantly enhance the user experience in specific scenarios.
